We are no stranger to the drive-thru or the take-out window, and since COVID-19 took hold, we’ve definitely had our fair share of fast-food (don’t tell our doctors).
P. Terry’s Burger Stand
Multiple Locations
An Austin original, these burger joints takes you back to the 1950s, but P. Terry’s is modern in that it promotes fresh, healthy ingredients with a convenient fast-food experience and price. Along with classics like cheeseburgers and milkshakes, the menu has a veggie burger and wheat buns.
Hat Creek Burger Company
Multiple Locations
It’s not a Sunday afternoon if we don’t hit this restaurant. To that same point, you can’t have a list of fast food in Austin and not mention Hat Creek Burger Company. This drive-thru eatery specializes in straightforward, nothin’-too-complicated cheeseburgers. Many of the locations have outdoor dining and a place for the kids to run around. Try the “Sombrero” topped with pepper jack, jalapenos, grilled onions and their special sauce. Don’t forget the tots!
Moonie’s Burger House
Multiple Locations
One of my favorite places to go when I have a “hankerin” for a great burger and a big appetite, is Moonie’s Burger House. My favorite is the Swiss & Shroom served on a Hawaiian bun with a side of onion rings and large ice tea to wash it down.
